President Jefferson Davis Outfits:</b> President Jefferson Davis was a wealthy planter from Mississippi. It gets quite hot in the deep South during the Summer. He would have had a cotton outfit in a light color to reflect the heat of the sun. We offer a nice three piece suit in a natural color (off white) cotton twill. <p>    <b>President Davis</b> graduated from West Point and had built a reputation as an able soldier and statesman when the gathering storm in the late 1850s carried him back to Mississippi. In February 1861, a convention of States that had seceded from the Union named him provisional President of the Confederates States. He was inaugurated later that month.
